Qualifications


Dear Applicant:Thank you for expressing an interest in the American Legion Post 141 Scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year. There are seven (7) scholarships @ $500 each.
An applicant for the 2024 American Legion Post 141 Scholarship must meet the following requirements:
• Be a high school senior or high school graduate currently accepted to an accredited institution of higher education (college, university, or trade school) within the United States.• Be a descendent of an honorable discharge or discharge under honorable conditions military veteran who served in the armed forces of the United States.• Be a resident of Anne Arundel County, MarylandPlease include the following:• An official high school transcript• A one-page essay describing: 1) your extracurricular activities, 2) higher education goals, 3) career plans.• One letter of recommendation. This letter must be from an employer, high school teacher, counselor and/or administrator.• A copy of a veteran’s DD214 or discharge papers showing dates of service and condition of discharge• A copy of the college, university, or trade school acceptance letter.• A copy of the applicant’s driver license or state ID.
